My latest creation
The ‘Fish & Chill’ street theatre show
A fishing trip. A rumbling stomach. One very persistent mosquito.
What could go wrong?
Through expressive mime, juggling and physical comedy, Ray transforms simple props into magical companions and everyday struggles into theatrical gold. It's a wordless journey that children follow with wide eyes, while adults find themselves laughing at the beautiful absurdity of it all.
No language barrier. Just pure play that reminds everyone - regardless of age - why we fell in love with live performance in the first place.
Perfect for families. Equally perfect for anyone who needs permission to laugh like a kid again.
First Place at "Lingener Theo" Street Theatre Competition - Lingen, Germany (September 2025)

Dancing with the Jellyfish
Indoor Act
An enchanting indoor performance
where Ray's fishing adventure takes an unexpected turn.
After falling from his boat into the depths below,
Ray discovers a mesmerizing world of glowing jellyfish.
This magical encounter comes to life through the unique art of horizontal juggling, physical theater, and specially designed luminous props.
With atmospheric stage lighting and immersive sound effects, audiences are transported beneath the waves where Ray's childlike wonder
transforms ordinary fishing into extraordinary underwater ballet with these mysterious ocean creatures.

Inspiration and Creation
Ray the Fisherman emerged from a profound desire to create a character that embodies the values often lost in our fast-paced modern world:
curiosity, simplicity, and pure silliness.
Inspired by classic silent film comedians, traditional clowning, and the meditative world of fishing,
Ray represents a unique blend of physical comedy, heartfelt storytelling and object manipulation.
The character has evolved through performances at international festivals,
circus cabarets, and family shows across Europe and Israel.
Each audience interaction and performance environment has contributed to Ray's development, adding depth and nuance to his world.
The fishing premise creates the perfect framework for comedy—
fishing requires patience and precision, qualities a clown hilariously lacks.
Ray's visual aesthetic draws from nautical traditions with a contemporary theatrical twist.
His color palette—blue, yellow, and white—extends to all his props and set pieces,
creating a cohesive visual universe.
This consistent design language helps transform any performance space into Ray's world,
whether on a traditional stage or in an unconventional public setting.

Ray the Fisherman is a one-of-a-kind theatrical character-
a fisherman who loves adventure but treasures tranquility.
Forever young at heart, Ray takes audiences on unforgettable fishing adventures where the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
With his distinctive blue costume adorned with white stars and yellow trimmings, he creates an instantly recognizable presence that draws audiences in from the first moment.
Ray approaches life with childlike curiosity, delightful simplicity, and pure silliness.
He celebrates trivial victories with enormous pride, finds wonder in the smallest details, and creates comedy through his exaggerated reactions to life's minor challenges.
His obsessions—fishing techniques, ritual coffee preparation, and meticulous care of his equipment—drive the humor and heart of his performances.
Whether he's battling his arch-nemesis the seagull, getting hopelessly tangled in fishing line, or proudly showing off his latest "catch,"
Ray creates universal comedy that transcends language barriers
and connects with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Character Introduction

The Purpose
Ray the Fisherman was created from a place of continuous artistic creation
—a world designed to allow me to create and play within the same language.
Through this character, I've established a framework to develop different segments and routines,
design props and sets, explore ideas,
and build performances that exist within the same universe but can evolve independently.
The character embodies the principles I want to explore more deeply in my own life:
curiosity, simplicity, and silliness.
Ray is not just a performance but a creative laboratory—
a space where I can continuously generate new material,
test concepts, and develop as an artist while maintaining a cohesive character identity.
Ray reminds audiences of what's often forgotten in adult life—
the joy of play, the delight in discovering something new,
and the freedom found in embracing our own foolishness.
His performances call people back to the magical thinking of childhood,
when everything was fascinating and full of possibility.
The clown is the essence of humanity—pure emotion and authentic reaction.
Through Ray, I create a space where both performer and audience
can experience genuine moments of connection, surprise, and joy.
Ray's world becomes a playground where we can all remember
how to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Ray's Adventures

Eurotrip 2022 -
Finding Ray
The seeds of Ray were planted long before his official debut. After completing circus school in 2020, a European tour of circus festivals was meticulously planned—only to be canceled as flights and gatherings worldwide halted due to the pandemic. Finally, after a two-year delay filled with valuable stage experience and creative development, the postponed adventure began. This European journey became a quest for artistic identity, with Ray's creator traveling with the distinctive blue and white star swimsuit with yellow trim that would eventually become Ray's signature look. Performing at various festivals and venues in this nascent costume, without yet fully embodying the fisherman character, the foundations of Ray were taking shape. In these formative performances, the seed was planted for what would soon bloom into Ray the Fisherman.

Summer Adventures 2023 -
A glimpse into the future
A season of transformation as Ray turned sports halls across Israel into maritime adventures during his summer camp tour. The unexpected invitation to perform at a Swiss street festival—following a last-minute cancellation—led to a spontaneous six-hour journey culminating in two performances that same day. This glimpse into the street theater festival world became a pivotal moment of clarity for Ray's creator—this was the authentic artistic path he had been seeking. The summer concluded with a journey to the legendary Aurillac Festival in France, gathering inspiration and insights that would shape Ray's future adventures and cement his commitment to the vibrant world of street theater.

European Tour 2024 -
The Folding Boat Adventure
Ray's ingenious collapsible boat that fits into a suitcase enabled his first European expedition across prestigious street theater and circus festivals in Germany, Czech Republic, France, Belgium, and Switzerland. Throughout this journey, Ray captivated audiences with his portable maritime world, culminating in a special collaboration with "Café Tav"—a renowned Gypsy circus cabaret. Joining this legendary collective of musicians and circus performers for their intensive two-week tour of multiple daily shows became the perfect finale to Ray's European adventure. This immersive experience with seasoned artists provided renewed creative energy and inspiration for future tours, proving that Ray's silent comedy truly transcends language barriers while connecting with diverse audiences through the universal language of visual storytelling.

The first tour of 'Fish & Chill' 2025 -
The Season Everything Came Together
From May to September, Ray the Fisherman embarked on his longest voyage yet, touring across Europe through ten festivals, fifty performances, endless train stations, and sunlit town squares. Carrying the folding boat through cobblestone streets, lakeside festivals, backstage chaos, and golden evening crowds, Ray’s small maritime world continued to grow with every stop along the way.
The season unfolded across Austria, Romania, Germany, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Israel, each audience bringing its own rhythm and surprises. As crowds gathered tighter around the fisherman’s tiny universe, the show slowly found its natural tide through improvisation, experimentation, failures, and artistic leniency.
The journey culminated in an unexpected and deeply validating moment when Ray won First Place at the "Lingener Theo" Street Theatre Competition in Lingen, Germany. By the end of the summer, the fisherman no longer felt like a character still being searched for, but a life fully being lived. Somewhere between the folding boat, crowded circles of spectators, and countless tea times, the fisherman quietly realized he was already sailing in the right direction.
